François conducts research and develops quantitative models and tools to help our clients meet their investment objectives. He joined the firm when Standard Life's Canadian operations were acquired by Manulife in January 2015. He originally joined the quantitative management team in 2006 as a specialist, quantitative portfolio management. In 2010, he established a business technology team, providing his quantitative development expertise to all investment teams within the firm. In 2013, he returned to the quantitative management team as director, research and development. Before François joined Standard Life Investments, he was an officer in communications and electronics engineering in the Canadian Armed Forces; he was also an invited researcher at Hiroshima University in Japan. He then spent two years at Caisse centrale Desjardins as a financial modeling consultant analyzing predictive interest-rate models.
