Jeff Yamashiroya joins Manulife Investment Management as Managing Director, U.S. Real Estate Asset Management, West Region

Manulife Investment Management announced today the appointment of Jeff Yamashiroya to the position of managing director, U.S. asset management, west region. Based in Manulife’s Los Angeles office, Jeffrey will report to Erik Gustafson, head of U.S. real estate asset management, effective September 13, 2021. 

Jeff will oversee Manulife Investment Management’s U.S. real estate platform within the Western regions. In addition to managing the regional asset management team, he will oversee the development and execution of asset-level strategies and direct the performance of the region’s real estate asset portfolio. 

Prior to joining the company, Jeff was Principal of Real Estate Private Equity at The Blackstone Group, where he was responsible for managing assets across all sectors including strategic capital investment, value add initiatives, and dispositions. Jeff also worked at Harbinger Capital Partners in Hong Kong as a consultant where he focused on acquisitions and development in the gaming and lodging sector. 

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development Law  at Columbia University in New York.
