Clark Builders Place recently completed interior upgrades throughout common areas, including a newly renovated lobby, washrooms, and a tenant conference centre, as well as upgraded high-efficiency LED fixtures throughout tenant suites and common areas.
In a continued effort to improve the product offering, the building will receive a facelift to the exterior that will both modernize and improve the overall building operational performance, reducing energy consumption. With construction targeted for completion by the end of 2020, the project will include new sealed window units, fiberglass frames, and an insulated curtain wall system. In addition, the system will be augmented with solar panels capable of generating power for on-site consumption.
To ensure minimal interruptions to the existing tenants while simultaneously introducing an innovative system to modernize, the project team has worked collaboratively with the builder to propose a modular unitized system that will be installed over the existing concrete exterior.
Located south of Edmonton’s downtown core, Clark Builders Place provides convenient access to major arterials and thoroughfares. The building offers excellent visibility along Calgary Trail and is surrounded by an abundance of amenities.

Scott Gordon is Manulife Investment Management’s Senior Managing Director, Head of Real Estate Asset Management for Canada. In his role, Scott oversees Manulife Investment Management’s real estate investment assets within Canada across office, industrial, and multifamily. He is responsible for enhancing portfolio performance through accretive asset management as well as leading due diligence of new markets as Manulife Investment Management continues to broaden its real estate platform across the country.
Prior to joining the company in 2020, Scott was the Executive Director, Canadian Investments at Starlight Investments Ltd. where he was responsible for the execution of all acquisitions, dispositions, and financing of multifamily assets within Canada.
Prior to joining Starlight, he held progressive positions with Brookfield Office Properties in New York, working in Brookfield’s Acquisitions/Capital Markets group as well as its Development group. In 2012, Scott joined Brookfield's Real Estate Private Equity team in Toronto with a focus on acquisitions, dispositions and asset management for its global opportunistic real estate investment vehicle.

Erik Gustafson is Manulife Investment Management’s Senior Managing Director, Head of Real Estate Asset Management for the United States. Erik joined the company in 2019 and is responsible for real estate investment assets within the U.S., encompassing a 23 million square feet portfolio of office, industrial, and multifamily assets. He is responsible for increasing portfolio performance through active and accretive asset management, developing, and implementing effective programs that maximize portfolio returns with a focus on the needs of our external investment vehicles as well as Manulife’s General Account. He is also responsible for enhancing the asset management platform, as well as leading due diligence of new markets, as the company continues to broaden the asset management platform across the U.S.
Erik comes to Manulife Investment Management with over 22 years’ experience in the real estate and financial services industries. Prior to joining the company, Erik was the Global Head of Portfolio Management at the Pembroke Real Estate group of Fidelity Investments, where he was responsible for overseeing portfolio strategy, strategic asset initiatives, and performance across a 9 million square foot global real estate portfolio in fourteen gateway markets. Prior to heading Portfolio Management at Pembroke, Erik was responsible for targeting and managing investment into multiple new global markets and identifying, developing, and executing investment and development strategies that maximized asset values for Pembroke’s investors. During almost 15 years at Fidelity, Erik spent time based in the Boston and London offices and in 2010 launched Pembroke’s Stockholm office to actively manage and grow a multi-country Nordic portfolio.
Erik began his career with Arthur Andersen and Capgemini Ernst & Young in New York City. Erik received his Bachelor of Arts, Economics at Trinity College in Hartford and his Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School. Erik has been active in ULI for almost 20 years in both the U.S. and Europe, and he is currently a member of the Global Exchange Council.

Kenneth Tsang is Manulife Investment Management’s Head of Real Estate Asset Management for Asia. In his role, Kenneth oversees Manulife’s real estate investment assets within Asia-Pacific across office, industrial, and logistics. He is responsible for enhancing portfolio performance through accretive asset management as well as investment management support to expand new markets and asset classes.
Prior to joining the company in 2019, Kenneth was the General Manager – Property at KHI Holdings Group where he co-led the acquisition, asset management, development, and divestment of real estate assets across Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and the U.K.
Prior to joining KHI Holdings Group, he was the Executive Director for Development of Real Estate in Asia for JPMorgan Asset Management Real Assets (Asia) Ltd. Within this role, Kenneth was responsible for the development management, asset management, and acquisition support for real estate opportunistic investments in Australia, China, Hong Kong, and Japan.
Before JPMorgan, Kenneth was the Technical Director for WSP in Asia where he was responsible for development management, feasibility study, and technical due diligence supports for real estate investments and development for real estate funds and property developers in Hong Kong, China, Macau, and Asia.

Jonathan Olynick is Manulife Investment Management’s Managing Director, Head of Global Leasing in real estate. In his role, Jonathan oversees the Leasing function for Manulife Investment Management and third-party real estate portfolio’s across Canada, U.S. and Asia. Jonathan’s focus is on enhancing asset values over the short, mid and long term by collaborating with regional teams and executing effective leasing, marketing and asset management strategies. Jonathan has also played a key role in leading and deploying the digital leasing strategy across the leasing and asset management platform. He also supports the Company’s corporate real estate leasing initiatives.
Jonathan has over 19 years of leasing and asset management real estate experience across all asset classes with his main area of expertise in office and industrial leasing. Prior to his current role, Jonathan was the Director of Leasing for Manulife Investment Management’s Toronto real estate portfolio. Prior to joining Manulife Investment Management in March 2010, he worked at Brookfield Properties in downtown Toronto. He started his career in real estate brokerage in 2001 with J.J Barnicke Ltd. in Toronto.
