Altaf Nanji, CFA, is a portfolio manager and head of credit research at Manulife Investment Management. He is responsible for guiding the Firm’s Canadian investment grade credit research efforts and has lead analytical responsibility for the financials and telecom/media sectors.
Previously, Altaf was head of Canadian credit research at RBC Capital Markets. While there, he was ranked #1 in a 2014 Greenwich Associates survey of “Most Helpful Analysts in Investment Grade Credit,” and he helped elevate RBC’s fixed income research team to a first-place tie, in the same survey, for overall fixed income research quality. Prior to joining RBC, he was a senior financial analyst for DBRS and, before that, a financial analyst and manager with OSFI. Altaf is a CFA charterholder.
