Saad Qazi, CFA

Associate Portfolio Manager, Senior Investment Analyst, Canadian Fixed Income, Manulife Investment Management

Saad contributes to developing the Canadian fixed-income team’s macro views and is responsible for coverage of provincial and municipal credits as well as pension funds and supranationals. He also follows economic data releases and analyzes central bank notes, speeches, publications, and research to generate views on the forward path of monetary policy, and he generates tactical trade ideas by studying yield curve movements across federal, provincial, and municipal interest-rate curves.

Saad also represents Manulife Investment Management as a member of the sub-sovereign debt advisory committee of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), a committee of international representatives mandated to deliver research, tools, and events to support PRI signatories globally. In a previous role at the firm, Saad was responsible for credit research and recommendations for numerous investment-grade fixed-income mandates for the team. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at RDA Capital as a quantitative analyst, developing and optimizing trading strategies. Saad holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
