This shows the investment process for the Manulife emerging market equity team. The key stages of the investment processes are: 1) idea generation, which uses fundamental measurement and qualitative judgement to have an active inventory of 200 companies; 2) detailed research for validation and valuation to understand quality and sustainable value creation using propriety valuation models; and 3) implementation, which combines portfolio construction and risk management to build a high conviction portfolio of 60‒80 companies.
